titleOfInvention | Heat treatment of hollow fiber membrane |
abstract | PURPOSE: To allow a hollow fiber membrane to maintain the flow rate of water in the early stage of passage by heating the membrane produced from a polymer mixed with a nonionic surfactant to the m.p. of the surfactant or above with microwaves. n CONSTITUTION: When a hollow fiber membrane as a filter membrane is produced from a polymer such as polysulfone, PE, PP or polyvinylidene fluoride, the polymer is mixed with a nonionic surfactant capable of being added to food, e.g., sorbitan fatty acid ester, glycerol fatty acid ester or sucrose fatty acid ester. The resulting hollow fiber membrane is uniformly dried by heating to the m.p. of the surfactant or above with microwaves. The hollow fiber membrane as a filter membrane can well maintain the flow rate of water in the early stage of passage. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
