PURPOSE: To obtain particles of a pharmaceutically active compound improved in flow and formulation properties and storability by spray-cooling the pharmaceutically active compound. n CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutically active compound, e.g. ibuprofen, especially the compound purified by rectification is spray-cooled to afford a substance of a pharmaceutical dosage form, especially particles of the pharmaceutically active compound, improved in flow and formulation properties and storability and having a round dense form, especially suitable for producing tablets. Further, a seed substance, preferably the particles of the pharmaceutically active compound may be used in an amount of preferably 10-50wt.% based on a melt of the pharmaceutically active compound.
