titleOfInvention Alkali-resistant foam suppressant which is free from silicone oil
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an alkali-resistant foam suppressant which contains a homopolymer or the like of an aliphat. 2-12C alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid, an anionic or nonionic emulsifier and a nonpolar solvent and is free from silicone oil and has the good storage stability. n CONSTITUTION: This suppressant contains the homopolymer or the aliphat. 2-12C alkyl ester of the (meth)acrylic acid or a copolymer of this alkyl ester with a di-2-12C alkyl ester of an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, the anionic or nonionic emulsifier and the nonpolar solvent. Even more the compsn. does not contain the silicone oil. The thus resulted compsn. has the good storage stability and acts as the foam suppressant even in an alkaline aq. system. In addition, the compsn. is free from the silicone oil and is, therefore, not a source for occurrence of contamination. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
