abstract PURPOSE: To improve heat resistance in adhesion to nitrile group-containing highly saturated polymer rubber by dipping polyester fiber with two adhesive compositions containing specific latices. n CONSTITUTION: In curing adhesion of polyester fiber with nitrile group-containing rubber, (A) polyester fiber cord is dipped with adhesive composition containing latex of conjugate diene-based copolymer containing ≥80% gel and ≤20 times gel swelling and resorcinol-formaldehyde resin as capital ingredients and heat- treated, then (B) dipped with adhesive composition containing latex of highly saturated copolymer containing nitrile group having ≤120 iodine value and resorcinol-formaldehyde resin as principal ingredients, thus heat-treated. Composite material of said fiber and said rubber is excellent in initial adhesion and heat resistance in adhesion, thus suitable for timing belt, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
