PURPOSE:To obtain the title oil which hardly decays, scarcely gets mildewed, and suffers little liquating out of iron ions, by incorporating a specified alkylenediamine into a water-soluble cutting oil. CONSTITUTION:A cutting oil comprising either a water-soluble cutting oil containing a surface active agent and at least one of a mineral oil, a lubricant, and an extreme-pressure additive, or a water-soluble cutting oil containing water and at least one of a surface active agent and a rust preventive additive, which contains at least one alkylenediamine having 2-12C alkylene groups. Examples of the dimanine to be used include ethylenediamine, hexamethylenediamine, and 1,8-diaminooctane. It is desirable that the diamine accounts for 0.001-1wt.% of a coolant. If below 0.001wt.%, it gives scarcely any effect; if above 1wt.%, it gives scarcely any improvement in the effect, leading to economical disadvantage. |
