titleOfInvention Oriented polydiacetylene layer
abstract PURPOSE: To ensure high susceptibility of a uniaxially oriented layer to nonlinearity and a large optical area of a microcrystalline film by depositing a polydiacetylene layer by epitaxy on an org. single crystal contg. an arom. group. n CONSTITUTION: A polydiacetylene layer is deposited by epitaxy on an org. single crystal, contg. an arom. group, preferably an orthophthalate. The polydiacetylene layer is especially deposited on a single crystal of acidic orthophthalate of an alkali metal, ammonium or thallium and 1,6-di-(n- carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadiyne may be selected as the diacetylene. The polydiacetylene layer is polycrystalline and the bottom part is microcrystalline and consists of crystals of 0.1-0.3μm size. The layer is uniform over a large area, has a uniaxially oriented state and is free from cracks. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
