titleOfInvention Picture reader
abstract PURPOSE: To remarkably improve the reading speed and the recording speed of an original by detecting the quantity of light of a light source, and controlling the carrying speed of the original and the driving cycle of a CCD image sensor. n CONSTITUTION: When a light quantity control target value to be given to a dimmer circuit 1-2 is darkened, the cycle of a pulse train outputted from a voltage-pulse train conversion circuit 105 becomes longer, and the cycle of a CCD start pulse generated by a CCD start pulse generation circuit 106 becomes longer as well, and time during which a CCD image sensor 29 accumulates the picture data of one line portion becomes longer. On the other hand, the cycle of a clock pulse for a pulse motor outputted from a frequency division circuit 109 becomes longer similarly, and as a result, the carrying speed of the original is decelerated. In the case where the light source 23 is made more bright by changing the light quantity control target value, these act in the opposite way, and as the result, irradiation time per one line of the picture to the CCD image sensor 29 becomes shorter, and simultaneously, the carrying speed of the original is accelerated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
