titleOfInvention Industrial sterilization-and-bacteriostatic composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition especially useful as a slimicide for papermaking white water system by dissolving 4,5-dichloro-1,2-dithiol-3-on and bromonitrostyrene in an organic solvent such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be obtained by dissolving (1) 4,5-dichloro-1,2-dithiol-3-one and (2) bromonitrostyrene at the weight ratio (4:1)-(1:9) in a solvent such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. This composition may be incorporated with a dispersant (surfactant), emulsifying agent, stabilizer, etc., being capable of killing microorganisms growing in the white water system in paper mills, the service water system in cooling towers, etc., or of suppressing their growth, leading to inhibiting formation of slime. In the present composition, use of a combination of the above two components will result in synergistic effect and cost reduction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
