| abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject spin-dyed yarn having excellent smoothness and a little fear of adsorption of soil by attaching in surviving of specific hydrophobic smoothing oil less than specific amount on the surface of spin-dyed yarn composed of thermoplastic fiber containing spin-dyeing pigment and spin- dyeing dye. n CONSTITUTION: In production of spin-dyed yarn by subjecting a thermoplastic synthetic fiber-forming polymer containing spin-dyeing pigment and spin-dyeing dye to melt-spinning, applying an oil containing hydrophobic smoothing agent of solid at normal temperature as principal ingredient and subjecting to hot- drawing and/or drawing and crimping, said oil is evaporated by heat in said process, or water is applied to the yarn before winding to de-oil so as to make attached amount of said oil to be ≤0.3wt.% to fiber weight and preferably further covered with fluorine compound to afford the aimed soil-proofing spin- dyed yarn with a slight attaching of dirt and small proceeding of soil.
