PURPOSE: To acquire an oil-soluble adduct as a useful adduct to an oily liquid by bringing a specific long chain hydrocarbyl polymer and a monoepoxy alcohol into contact with each other to form a polymer substd. epoxy ester adduct. n CONSTITUTION: The olefin polymer of 2-10C monoolefin having a number average mol.wt. of 700 to 5000 and 4-10C monounsatd. acid material are reacted to obtain the long chain hydrocarbyl polymer substd. 4-10C dicarboxylic acid forming material. This forming material is brought into contact with the monoepoxy alcohol for the time sufficient for forming the first adduct monoepoxy half ester of the dicarboxylic acid producing material. Further, the first adduct is brought into contact with a nucleophilic reagent, such as amine or alcohol, for the time sufficient for forming a dispersant adduct, by which the oil-soluble dispersant adduct is obtd. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
