titleOfInvention | High-temperature-stable polysulfone/polyimide block copolycondensate and its production by melt condensation |
abstract | PURPOSE: To improve the solvent resistance and stress cracking resistance of a polyarylene ether sulfone by combining a polyarylene ether sulfone block copolymer having a specified molecular weight with a polyimide block copolymer having a specified molecular weight in a specified ratio. n CONSTITUTION: This invention provides a high-temperature-stable polysulfone/ polyimide block copolycondensate containing the following components (A) and (B) and produced by melt condensation: component A is used in an amount of 70-98 mol% (A+B=100 mol%) and is a polyarylene ether sulfone block copolymer having a number-average molecular weight of 1,500-20,000, composed of units of formula I and/or units of formula II and containing these units bonded to each other in a randomly distributed state or in the form of blocks, and component B is used in an amount of 2-30 mol% and is a polyimide block copolymer having a number-average molecular weight of about 400-5,000 and composed of units of formula III and/or units of formula IV (wherein R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different from each other, are each hydrogen or methyl; and X is a bridging group of -CH 2 - or -CH 2 CH 2 -). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
