abstract PURPOSE: To improve mechanical strength and chemical resistance by forming a porous permselective membrane using polyaniline having a specific repeating unit, soluble in an org. solvent in a dedoped state and having intrinsic viscosity of 0.40dl/g or more. n CONSTITUTION: Polyaniline is subjected to dedoping by a basic substance to obtain polyaniline soluble in an org. solvent and having intrinsic viscosity [η]measured in N-methylpyrrolidone at 30°C of 0.40dl/g or more and this polyaniline is dissolved in an org. solvent. This org. solvent solution is applied to a support base material and, after a part of the org. solvent is evaporated, the coated base material is brought into contact with a coagulation solvent having the compatibility with an org. solvent but not dissolving polyaniline. Subsequently, the solvent is removed to form a porous permselective membrane having main repeating unit represented by formula I (0<m<1, 0<n<1, m+n=1). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
