abstract NEW MATERIAL: 4-(5,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-anthracenyl)benzoic acid marked with tritium. n USE: Radoiactive marker for the determination of the affinity of retinoids for their nuclear receptors and their cytosolic binding protein and/or the determination of the nuclear receptor and their cytosolic binding protein content in the cells. n PROCESS: A polyhalogenated alkyl ester of 4-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8- tetramethyl-2-anthracenyl)benzoic acid (compd. A) is reacted with a tritium reducing agent or with tritium in the presence of a catalyst, or an alkyl ester of the compd. A is subjected to an isotopic exchange reaction with tritium modified water in the presence of platinum and acetic acid at a temp. of 60 to 150°C to obtain the new compd. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
