abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject azeotropic mixture useful as substitute for fluorocarbon or solvent which comprises 1,1-dichloro-2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropane; 1,3-dichloro-1,1,2,2,3-pentafluoropropane and dichloromethane. n CONSTITUTION: (A) 9-49wt.%, preferably 20-30wt.% 1,1-dichloro-2,2,3,3,3- pentafluoropropane is mixed with (B) 8-39wt.%, preferably 16-26wt.% 1,3- dichloro-1,1,2,2,3-pentafluoropropane and (C) 38-70wt.%, preferably 49-59wt.% dichloromethane (especially A = about 25wt.%, B = about 21wt.% and C = about 54wt.% as azeotropic composition) as essential ingredients. Said mixture is incombustible and has equivalent or better properties than the properties of conventional excellent fluorocarbon. Further, variation of composition in recycle is small because of existence of azeotropic point and thus said mixture is able to be used equally as conventional single fluorocarbon without drastic change of conventional technique.
