titleOfInvention New starch, product manufactured therefrom, and their manufacture
abstract PURPOSE: To enhance paste viscosity, appearance, and transparency by wet grinding a specific starch-producing plant, and removing the embryo, oil, exodermis, fiber, gluten, etc. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A plant having a waxy shrunken-homo-type gene (e.g. corn) is obtained by hybridizing (a) an edible plant having a waxy gene type with (b) an edible plant having a shrunken-2-gene type. After the A component is subjected to cleaning process and its ground debris is removed, (B) a slurry containing starch and gluten is obtained by immersing the A component for 24 to 48 hours in water containing 0.2 wt.% SO 2 , dehydrating and then grounding the same, removing the embryo and oil, further grounding the same, and removing the exodermis and fibers using a washing screen. Next, the slurry is centrifuged to remove the gluten and is dried to about 12% water content. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
