PURPOSE: To obtain a polyurethane foam excellent in flame retardance and mechanical properties by reacting a polyisocyanate with a specific isocyanate- reactive hydrogen compd. in the presence of water and/or an org. blowing agent, a catalyst, and melamine with a specified size. n CONSTITUTION: A polyisocyanate (A) is reacted with a compd. (B) having at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms and a mol.wt. of 400-10,000 in the presence of water and/or an org. blowing agent (C), a catalyst (D), and melamine (E) having a particle size of about 5-90 μm as the flame retardant. Examples of compd. B are a known polymer-modified polyol and a polyol having many prim-hydroxyl groups. Examples of the catalyst are a tert. amine and an organometallic compd. Melamine is used pref. in an amt. of about 15-100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. compd. B. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
