abstract | PURPOSE:To prepare a polyester compsn. which gives a film with no coarse projection and with an excellent travelling property and abrasion resistance by compounding a polyester with a multilayered org. particle having a specified particle diameter and covered with a crosslinked polymer contg. ethylene glycol units. CONSTITUTION:A polyester contg. 80mol% or higher polyethylene terephthalate units is compounded with 0.005-1wt.% pref. 0.03-0.6wt.%, multilayered org. particle having a mean particle diameter of 0.01-3mum, esp. 0.1-1.5mum, in which the surface of a nucleus comprising an org. particle, e.g. styrene-methyl methacrylate-divinylbenzene copolymer particle, is covered with a crosslinked polymer contg. ethylene glycol units (e.g. a crosslinked product of an ethylene glycol dimethacrylate-methyl methacrylate-divinylbenzene copolymer), thus giving a polyester compd. useful for a substrate of a magnetic recording medium, a capacitor, photoengraving process, an insulating material, etc. |
