abstract PURPOSE: To readily obtain a substituted carbamoyl pyrazole derivative having water-soluble group useful as an intermediate of dye for the photograph, etc., in high yield by using 3-position substituted pyrazole derivative protected at 5-position as a raw material and reacting with specific compound in the presence of condensation agent. n CONSTITUTION: 3-position substituted pyrazole derivative protected at 5-position expressed by formula I [R 1 is H, alkyl, aryl or hetero-ring group; R 2 is block (protect) group, e.g. benzoyl or methyl sulfonyl; M is H, metal atom such as alkaline earth metal] is reacted with a compound expressed by formula II (R 3 and R 4 are R 1 ; with the proviso that R 3 =R 4 ≠H) such as 2,5-disulfoaniline in non-protonic polar solvent and in the presence of condensation agent such as N,N'-dicyclohexyl carbodiimide to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula III (at least one of R 1 -R 4 has water-soluble group, e.g., sulfo or carboxy group and same in the compounds expressed by formula I and formula II) useful for medicine, agricultural chemical, coupler in photography and especially intermediate of dye for photograph as a compound expressed by formula IV. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
