NEW MATERIAL: A benzenesulfonamide deriv. represented by formula I (R 1 is H or methyl; R 2 is H or 1-6C alkyl; R 3 is 3-5C alkyl) and a compd. represented by formula II in a closed tautomeric form corresponding to the formula I. n EXAMPLE: 3-[4-chloro-3-[3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylsulfamoyl)phenyl]-3- hydroxy-1-isoindoline. n USE: This new compound has diuretic and salt excreting action and further has action lowering a serum level of an atherogenetic lipid fraction and is useful for treating senile hypertensive. Also effective for delaying the progress of atherosclerosis and the prophylaxis of the regeneration of an atherogenetic platelet and has long lasting action. n PROCESS: A compd. represented by formula III is reacted with an amine represented by formula IV and the reaction product is converted to a salt if necessary to obtain the compd. represented by the formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
