titleOfInvention | Wood preservative composition and method of treating wood with same |
abstract | PURPOSE: To enhance a preservation stability and to easily handle by using a specific arsenate as a wood protection against a copper arsenate wood preservative. n CONSTITUTION: The wood preservative composition comprises 0.1 to 15% of chromated copper arsenate or an ammoniacal copper arsenate(ACA), or 1 to 20% of oil and 3.0 to 25% of surfactant (based on oil weight). The surfactant preferably comprises a first surfactant having about 1 to 5 of a mean ethoxy mole ratio to mole of alkylphenol or alcohol, and a second surfactant having about 15 to 100 of that ratio. The first surfactant preferably has about 7 to 9.5 of hydrophilic lipophilic balance(HLB), and the second surfactant has about 15-20 HLB. HLB of the combined surfactant is preferably about 11 to 12. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
