titleOfInvention Bisurea light stabilizer for organic polymer
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a stabilizer that comprises a bisurea compound containing two 2-(2hydroxyphenyl) benzotriazole groups, is not easily extracted from a polymer by a washing solvent, etc., and is less affected by a washing bleaching agent. n CONSTITUTION: This stabilizer comprises a bisurea compound represented by the formula [R is a divalent group. R 1 is a 2-3C saturated hydrocarbon; R 2 is a univalent residual group containing a 2(2'-hydroxyphenyl) benzotriazole group]. To synthesize the compound, an ester of 3-(2Hbenzotriazol-2-yl)-4- hydroxy-5-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-benzenepropanic acid is reacted wmth excess ethylenediamine to form an amide-amine intermediate product, which is then reacted with an organic diisocyanate. The stabilizer is not adversely affected by the presence of copper ions. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
