Fluorination of tetrachlorodifluoropropane |
abstract |
PURPOSE: To obtain R-235, etc., by using tetrachlorodifluoropropane as a raw material and fluorinating the raw material with hydrogen fluoride in high yield and catalytic activity in the presence of a catalyst consisting of chromium oxide, aluminum oxide and magnesium oxide at specific ratios. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is produced by fluorinating tetrachlorodifluoropropane (C 3 H 2 Cl 4 F 2 : R-232) with hydrogen fluoride in gaseous phase under normal or positive pressure at 150-550°C, especially 300-450°C in the presence of a chromium oxide/aluminum oxide/magnesium oxide catalyst containing 50-90wt.% (preferably 60-80wt.%) of aluminum oxide in terms of oxide and containing 1-30wt.% (preferably 2-20wt.%) of magnesium oxide based on chromium oxide. The ratio of hydrogen fluoride to the above raw material is excess to stoichiometric amount, for example 4mol or more. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
