abstract |
PURPOSE: To extract and purify water-soluble hemicellulose from wheat bran in high purity by washing wheat bran with water to remove water-soluble substances, then treating with a dilute aqueous solution of alkali and successively purifying by using an ultrafilter and an ion exchange resin. n CONSTITUTION: Wheat bran is washed with water to remove water-soluble substances and treated with 0.1-0.4 N aqueous solution of alkali to elute a fraction consisting essentially of hemicellulose in the aqueous solution of alkali. Then the aqueous solution is successively purified by using an ultrafilter and an ion exchange resin to extract and purify hemicellulose. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
