titleOfInvention | Production of optically active 2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid |
abstract | PURPOSE: To produce optically active 2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid by reacting a culture or microbial cells of one or more microorganisms selected from specific microorganisms or treated substances thereof with 2-oxo-4-phenylbutyric acid. n CONSTITUTION: A culture or microbial cells of at least one microorganism selected from microorganisms having the ability to convert 2-oxo-4-phenylbutyric acid into optically active 2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid or treated substances thereof are prepared. 2-Oxo-4-phenylbutyric acid is then reacted therewith to produce and accumulate the optically active 2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid, which is subsequently isolated and collected from the reaction solution. Microorganisms belonging to the genuses Apiotrichum, Candida, Torulopsis, Rhodotorula, etc., are cited as specific examples of the afore-mentioned microorganisms. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
