abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare a silicone oil compd. with improved mechanical and storage stabilities and useful for an electrical insulating waterproof seal by homogeneously mixing a specific organopolysiloxane with a surface-untreated fumed or precipitated silica. n CONSTITUTION: An organopolysiloxane of the formula (wherein R is a 1-14C monovalent hydrocarbon group or OH; and 1.95<a<2.20) is stripped under a vacuum of 10mmHg or lower at 280°C or higher for at least 4hr to cut the low MW fraction, thus giving an organopolysiloxane contg. 95mole% terminal triorganosiloxane group 5mole% or lower OH groups. 100 pts.wt. resulting organopolysiloxane is homogeneously mixed with 2-18 pts.wt. surface-untreated fumed or precipitated silica having a specific surface of at least 100m 2 /g, pref. 130-380m 2 /g. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
