titleOfInvention Deodorant obtained from grasses
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a deodorant having excellent effect to various malodors and having high safety by extracting the leaves, stems or skins of grasses with a specific single or mixed solvent. n CONSTITUTION: The leaves, stems or skins of grasses such as a eulalia, corn, cereals, bamboo grass, or a bamboo are extracted with a single or mixed solvent composed of water, hot water, alcohol, ester, an acid, alkali and ketone and the obtained extract is processed into various formulations, that is, a sheet shape, an aerosol state, a granular shape, a powdery shape or a paper like shape to be capable of being used as a deodorant. For example, the live leaves of stripped bamboo are collected and washed to remove dust and dried. The dried leaves of stripped bamboo are ground and 100g of ground leaves are put in a 2l beaker to be mixed with 1l of water and the resulting mixture is boiled until reaching 200 ml. This boiling operation is repeated five times to obtain a brown extract which is, in turn, filtered to be used as a deodorant as it is. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
