titleOfInvention Sintered body for high accuracy working tool
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the sintered body having excellent strength and wear resis tance by forming a sintered body with boron nitride powder and a bond consti tuted of specified Ti compounds, Al and WC. n CONSTITUTION: By volume, 45 to 60% cubic boron nitride powder having ≤2μm average grain size and a bond are subjected to super high pressure sintering to form a sintered body. One or more kinds of Ti compounds selected from TiN, Ti(C 1- XNX)z, (Ti, M) (C 1- XNX)Mz and (TiM)Nz are incorporated into the bond; where M denotes transition metallic elements of the group IVa, Va and VIa in the periodic table extruding Ti and 0.45Z≤0.65 and 0.50≤X≤1.0 are regulated. The atomic ratio of Ti to the transition elements is regulated to 2/3 to 97/100. In the bond, by weight, 5 to 15% Al is incorporated, tungsten is incorporated in the shape of Ti compounds, WC and W and the concn. of tungsten is regulated to 2 to 20%. The sintered body is used for the intermittent machining of a high hardness hardened steel and the machining of cast iron and heat-resistant alloy. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
