abstract | PURPOSE: To provide the title additive which gives a pulverized coal/oil mixture excellent in stability and fluidity by using as essential constituent a compound comprising an alkylene oxide adduct of an amine/phenol/formaldehyde condensate. n CONSTITUTION: An amine (e.g. methylamine), a phenol (e.g. phenol), and formaldehyde are made to undergo condensation reaction. The condenate is subjected to addition reaction with an alkylene oxide (e.g. ethylene oxide). The title additive is produced by using the compound thus obtained [e.g. of formula I or II (wherein EO is -CH 2 -CH 2 -CH 2 -O-)] as the essential constituent and, if necessary, incorporating a solvent (e.g. isopropyl alcohol), an additive, etc., therein. The addition of about 0.01-5wt.% of the title additive thus prepared to a pulverized coal/oil mixture can prevent even the settling of relatively large coal particles. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
