abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A bisfuran compound of formula I (R1 is divalent organic group such as a group of formula II, III, IV, V or VI; n is 1-5). n EXAMPLE: 1,2-Bis(4-furfurylideneamino)ethane. n USE: Useful as a hardening agent for maleimide resins. Since a maleimide compound useful as a raw material for thermosetting polyimides is hardened with the compound of formula I at a low temperature in a short time, highly heat- resistant products are readily obtained. n PREPARATION: One mol of a diamine compound such as ethylenediamine is dehydratively condensed with two mol of furfural to prepare a compound of formula VII (R2 is divalent organic group) among the compound of formula I. The reaction is rapidly carried out under room temperature. A maleimide compound is compounded with the bisfuran compound of formula I and subsequently heated to provide the hardened maleimide resin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
