abstract | PURPOSE:To enhance compatibility with a binder and electric charge transfer ability by forming a photosensitive layer containing at least one of specified azine compounds as an effective component on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains as the effective component at least one of the azine compounds represented by formula I in which each of R1 and R2 is alkyl, aryl, propargyl, or the like, each independent of each other and optionally substituted; each of Ar1 and Ar2 is an aromatic or heterocyclic divalent optionally substituted group, independent of each other; each of R3 and R4 is an optionally substituted aromatic or heterocyclic group, independent of each other, and each may combine with each other to form a ring, thus permitting electrophotographic characteristics, such as physical film properties, charge holding ability, sensitivity, and resistance to rise of residual potential to be enhanced. |
