| abstract | PURPOSE: To prevent an undesirable photograph from being taken by providing an information means for informing a person to be photographed of the number of light emitting times of a light emitting device for preventing red-eye preceding the actuation of the light emitting device for preventing red-eye and making the person to be photographed watch a camera until completing photographing. n CONSTITUTION: The light emitting device for preventing red-eye 11 is provided with a xenon tube Xe2 which emits light with which the pupils of man's eyes are made small, a capacitor 11a, a charging circuit 11b for the capacitor, and a light emission circuit 11c which controls the start of light emission. When an actuation signal is inputted in a light emission circuit 10c from a CPU 1, the xenon tube Xe2 emits the light to perform what is called pre-irradiation. At the time of photographing with flash light accompanied with the pre-irradiation for preventing red-eye, that the light is emitted twice by the half-depressing operation of a release button is displayed by LEDs 21 and 22.
