titleOfInvention | Highly hydrous lens material for eye |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the highly hydrous lens material for eyes having excellent gas permeability, durability and mechanical strength by subjecting a copolymer essentially consisting of a specific (meth)acrylate polymer, fatty acid vinyl ester and crosslinking agent to a hydrophilicity impartation treatment. n CONSTITUTION: The copolymer essentially consisting of the (meth)acrylate polymer which is obtd. by using an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer and a monomer having at least two polymerizable groups within the molecule and copolymerizing these monomers and has at least average one polymerizable group within the molecule, the fatty acid vinyl ester, and the crosslinking agent is subjected to the hydrophilicity impartation treatment by saponification, by which the highly hydrous lens material for eyes is obtd. This crosslinking agent is expressed by formula I, where R 5 , R 7 denote -CH=CH 2 , etc.; (a), (b) respectively denote 0-5 integer and b=0 when a=0. The crosslinking agent is expressed by formula II, where R 5 , R 7 are the same as mentioned above and R 8 is -CH=CH 2 , etc.; R 9 , R 10 are the same or different and are a hydrogen atom; C denotes 0-3 integer; (d) denotes 0-500 integer; (e) denotes 1-10000 integer; (f) denotes 0-3 integer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
