titleOfInvention | Purification of candelilla wax |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a candelilla wax having high hardness and excellent gross with simple method by purifying crude candelilla with alcohols or ketones. n CONSTITUTION: (A) Crude candelilla wax is dissolved by adding of (B) preferably alcohols such as methanol, ethanol or isopropanol and/or acetones such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone usually with 5-20 times (V/W) of the component A and heating in e.g. a water bath. Next, resultant solution is cooled to room temperature preferably with stirring and separated to solid wax component and filtered liquid, then organic solvent is distilled off, thus poured into a mold and molded to afford the aimed purified wax. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
