titleOfInvention | Production of glycyrrhizin |
abstract | PURPOSE: To efficiently produce the subject compound which is an active compo nent of glycyrrhiza and useful as a medicine, etc., in an indoor incubator by transforming a tissue of a plant belonging to Glycyrrhiza genus, stably proliferat ing hairy roots thereof and then extracting the resultant roots. n CONSTITUTION: A tissue (e.g. seed) of Glycyrrhiza uralensis, i.e. a plant belonging to Glycyrrhiza genus is washed with a neutral detergent, sterilized using 70% ethanol, then immersed in a sodium hypochlorite solution, linsed with a sterilized distilled water, subsequently seeded on a culture medium solidified using agar, aseptically germinated, infected with a bacterium (e.g. soil bacterium belonging to agrobacter), transformed and cultured to form hairy roots. The resultant hairy roots are extracted and the product is separated from the extracted solu tion, thus obtaining the objective glycyrrhizin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
