titleOfInvention Preparation of unsaturated compound
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an unsaturated compounds such as partially novel alkenyl ketone and cyanoanalogue advantageously in a high yield by dehydrating partially novel preliminarily prepared liquid alkanol having an active group of a dehydration reaction in the presence of a specified solid dehydration catalyst. n CONSTITUTION: Preliminarily prepared a liquid alkanol of formula I (wherein X is active group of dehydration reaction in the presence of a catalyst), especially a partially novel substance of formulas II-IV (wherein R, R 1 and R 2 are each lower alkyl, halogen, NH 2 or OR 3 ; R' is H, lower alkyl or OR 3 ; R" is CN, R 4 CO or OR 3 ; and R 3 and R 4 are lower alkyl) is dehydrated in the presence of a solid dehydration catalyst selected from an acid resin, alumina, their mixture, the mixture of alumina and heavy metal oxide or the mixture of the acid resin, alumina, and heavy metal oxide to obtain an unsaturated compound, especially a partially novel substance of formulas V-VII which is useful to prepare a photodegradable substance by polymerizing with various polymers by a method capable of continuous operation with a residue reduced in a high yield without the need for adding a stabilizer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
