titleOfInvention Method for alkylating aromatic compound
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an alkylated product in good yield by dividing a reaction mixture into two parts in which an amount of either one part is more than that of other part, when an aromatic compound is alkylated with alcohols and recycling either one part to a reactor and taking out other part out of reaction system. n CONSTITUTION: When an aromatic compound such as benzenes, naphthalenes or anthrathenes is continuously alkylated to produce an alkylated aromatic compound useful as an industrial intermediate raw material, a reaction mixture containing olefins discharged from a reactor 3 is divided to two parts A and B at a ratio of the part A to the part B of ≥1, preferably 2-100. Then either one part A is recycled to the reactor 3 and other part B is discharged out of reaction system to suppress production of olefin by-product from the alcohols and improve yield of alkylation reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
