abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain the title yarn for reinforcing rubber showing specific physical properties by providing polyester yarn with a treating agent containing a specific ester-based compound containing no sulfur, ether-based polymer activator and nonionic activator in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:Polyester yarn is provided with an emulsion treating agent containing (A) >=62wt.% smoothing agent (e.g. ester of di- or polyfunctional polyhydric alcohol and 18-30C higher monocarboxylic acid) comprising ester- based compound containing no sulfur, having >=900 molecular weight, (B) >=8wt.% ether-based polymer activator (preferable example: polymer obtained by polymerizing alkylene oxide) having >=7,000 molecular weight and being liquid at 15 deg.C and (C) <=20wt.% nonionic activator having >=800 molecular weight in the ratio of <=90wt.% components A+B to give high-tenacity polyester yarn having >=8.5g/d filament strength, <=1,500 smoking properties and <=5cm RFL permeability. |
