abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject sponge, containing reinforcing fibers using active carbon fibers as at least part thereof and excellent in flexibility and deodorizing properties, etc., in drying and wetting. n CONSTITUTION: The objective sponge obtained by blending reinforcing fibers (preferably synthetic fiber, such as rayon) containing, e.g. viscose, active carbon fibers having 0.5-15d thickness and 5-50mm fiber length for deodorizing and fibers (0.5-1.5d thickness and 5-50mm length) containing an antimicrobial metal, such as copper or silver, for antimicrobial use in amount of 5-100wt.% based on the total reinforcing fibers and 10-50wt.% based on the amount of the sponge and Glauber's salt in an amount of 1-8 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. viscose, mixing the resultant blend, forming the mixture, then subjecting the formed material to boiling treatment at 90-100°C, etc., washing the resultant material with water and drying the washed material. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
