abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a compd. being useful as a basic material for preparing a synthetic soap by a method wherein an acyloxyalkane sulfonic acid is reacted with a metal salt or ammonium salt of a low mol.wt. org. carboxylic acid and a neutralized product is simply isolated. n CONSTITUTION: An acyloxyalkane sulfonic acid of formula I (wherein R is a 5-21C alkyl or a 5-21C alkenyl; A is a 2-4C alkylene residue) is reacted with a metal salt or ammonium salt of a low mol.wt. org. carboxylic acid in an non-aqueous medium, pref. in a low mol.wt. org. carboxylic acid at 10-100°C to obtain an aimed product of formula II (wherein M is a metal or ammonium ion). Neutralization of acyloxyalkane sulfonic acid can be simply performed with no problem with a metal or an ammonium salt of a low mol.wt. org. carboxylic acid in an non-aqueous medium. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
