NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R is lower alkylene or lower alkenylene; R 1 is methyl or halogen; R 2 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or OH; X is halogen; Y is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, NO 2 , CN, OH, NH 2 , lower alkanoyloxy, lower alkylthio, carboxyl, etc.; l and m are 0 or 1, provided that both are not 0 at the same time; n is 0 or 1-4). n EXAMPLE: 2-(2,4-Dichloro.3-methylphenoxy)acetanilide. n USE: A herbicide capable of exhibiting selectivity between weeds/gramineous crops and prolonged residual effectiveness, etc., with low phytotoxicity. n PREPARATION: A tri- or tetra-substituted phenoxycarboxylic acid halide derivative expressed by formula II is reacted with an aniline derivative expressed by formula III to afford the compound expressed by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
