titleOfInvention Thermal transfer ink
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title ink which is improved in superposing properties and can give a clear image of a wide range of color presentation by specifying the surface tension of the ink in a specified molten state. n CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer ink having a surface tension ≥25dyn/cm in a molten state at a temperature higher than the m.p. by at least 40°C. According to the ink having said properties, good adhesion is attained in superposition of an ink on another ink, equivalent transfer is possible for all of the colors in the transfer of a plurality of colors such as the first color, second color, third color, etc., and for example a clear image of a wide range of color presentation can be obtained in full-color image transfer. As materials for increasing the surface tension of the molten ink, polar waxes such as oxidized polyethylene wax and carnauba wax and polar resins such as an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and an ethylene/ethyl acrylate are effective. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
