titleOfInvention Thermal transfer recording medium
abstract PURPOSE: To enhance solvent resistance of a transferred image or the like by producing a thermal transfer recording medium by providing sequentially a release layer comprising a specified wax and an ink layer comprising a specified amount of glycidyl acrylate or the like and a coloring agent, on a support. n CONSTITUTION: A release layer 2 comprising a wax capable of being melted by heat to be a low-viscosity liquid and an ink layer 3 comprising a polymer in which glycidyl acrylate and/or glycidyl methacrylate constitutes at least 10mol% of the polymeric units an a coloring agent, are sequentially provided on a support 1 to produce a thermal transfer recording medium. Examples of the wax include beeswax, spermaceti and carnauba wax, whereas the acrylic resin is preferably one which is melted or softened at a temperature of 50-150°C. The mixing ratio of the acrylic resin to the wax, which constitute the ink layer 3, is preferably in 20/80 to 80/20 (by weight). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
