titleOfInvention Coil assembly for use in nuclear magnetic resonance image method
abstract PURPOSE: To enable to take a high resolution image and to provide a surface coil adherable to the specified region of a patient, by having a movable outer surface body means and an electromagnetic signal receiving means placed in the flexible (movable) outer surface body, in a surface coil used by a magnetic resonance image method. n CONSTITUTION: A movable and compatible surface coil 2 for giving a high resolution for an image in the eyesocket of a patient, which is placed on the peripheral of a head 4 of the patient, comprises a musk having an outer body (outer face body) made of a movable material, such as polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride, and a receiving antenna 8 as a movable and compatible electromagnetic signal receiving means. The antenna 8 comprises a movable and compatible conductive material made of silver, copper, or aluminum, and receives a nuclear magnetic resonance NMR signal emitted from the eyesocket of the patient. A coil 2 has a chamber 10 for accommodating the eyesocket of the patient, fits substantially into the border and shape of the patient's head, and can be reused among patients having an anatomy structure of different sizes. Moreover, the movable and compatible surface coil 2 for an electromagnetic resonance image of the patient's head, which is bound around the neck of the patient by a strip, has a first outer cover and a second outer cover, and is formed of a movable and compatible material having an electromagnetic radiograph, such as polyvinyl chloride. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
