titleOfInvention Alignate gel
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain homogenous calcium alginate gel without precipitating fibrous calcium alginate by mixing a capsulated calcium salt with a soluble alginate. n CONSTITUTION: A capsulated calcium salt is mixed with a soluble alginate and the calcium salt is released under control so that calcium alginate gel is formed. The calcium salt is lactate, chloride, acetate, gluconate, glycerophosphate, maleate, sulfate or hydrogenorthophosphate and it is used by an amt. enough to convert at least 80% of the soluble alginate into calcium alginate. Water-soluble glyceride and/or hydrogenated vegetable oil is used as the encapsulating material and the pref. amt. of the encapsulating material and that of the calcium salt are 10-70wt.% and 30-90wt.%, respectively. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
