titleOfInvention Aromatic polycarbonate resin composition and medical part prepared by using same
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the title composition which is excellent in resistance to ionizing radiation and does not undergo yellowing, a decrease in strength, etc., by mixing an aromatic polycarbonate resin with a specified amount of an organohalogen compound. n CONSTITUTION: An aromatic polycarbonate resin composition excellent in resistance to ionizing radiation is produced by mixing an aromatic polycarbonate resin (e.g., bisphenol A polycarbonate resin) with 0.1-10wt.% (in terms of the halogen atoms) organohalogen compound. As the organohalogen compounds, a polycarbonate oligomer of tetrabromobisphenol A, decabromo-diphenyl ether, etc., can be desirably used. The resistance to ionizing radiation can be further improved by adding 0.1-5wt.% polypropylene glycol to the composition. The obtained aromatic polycarbonate resin composition can be desirably used in the production of medical parts, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
