titleOfInvention Method for recovering saponin from asparagus waste
abstract PURPOSE: To recover the subject saponin in a large amount at a low cost by dipping an asparagus waste as a starting material in an alcohol, then providing a concentrate essence, defatting and extracting the resultant essence. n CONSTITUTION: An asparagus waste is used as a starting material and dipped in an alcohol to provide a concentrated essence. A solvent is then added to carry out extraction and the resultant extract solution is concentrated. The solvent is subsequently distilled away to afford an extract essence. A lipid ingredient is then removed and a solvent is further added to extract a saponin ingredient in an organic layer. The extract saponin ingredient is subsequently concentrated to dryness to provide a crude saponin-containing extract, which is then dissolved in an organic solvent. The obtained solution is transferred into an ether to separate and recover precipitates of the crude saponin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
