| abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a useful biocide and a preservative containing borate org. composite ions formed by reacting an org. composite with a borate or boric acid. n CONSTITUTION: For example, an aq. soln. containing a borate or boric acid is added to an org. composite (pref., 1,2-diol, phenyl glycol) dissolved in a solvent (e.g. kerosene) and the resulting mixture is stirred for a short time to separate an aq. layer and an org. layer and an objective borate org. composite ion- containing org. biocide dirrolued in an organic solvent is obtained from this org. layer. Further, an aq. soln. containing a cation such as copper sulfate is added to the org. layer to perform reaction under short-time stirring and the obtained mixture is again separated into an aq. layer and an org. layer and the obtained org. composite ion borate is formed into a soln. or an emulsion to be mixed with a resin to obtain a preservative for wood. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
