titleOfInvention | Liquid crystal display element |
abstract | PURPOSE: To shorten a display time per one picture display by providing a heater which heats a display element on the display element composed of liquid crystal for making a display by selecting a transparent or white turbid state with the same voltage. n CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display element makes a display by selecting the nematic phase of transparency or cholesteric phase of white turbidity properly by utilizing a hysteresis loop formed of an applied voltage-to-light transmissivity curve. In this case, the transparent heater 7 which heats the display element is fixed to a glass substrate 2b which constitutes the display element directly by using an adhesive, etc., and a proper prescribed voltage (e.g. 8V) is applied to the transparent heater 7 to hold the display element at proper prescribed temperature (preferably, 40°C). Consequently, the display time per one picture display of the display element can be shortened. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
