abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a dyed material having especially excellent fastness to wetting in dyeing a fiber material by an azoic dyeing method by forming an insoluble azo dye composed of a specific diazo component and a coupling component on the fiber. n CONSTITUTION: A diazo component of formula I (R is a 3-5C alkyl; chlorine is located in the ortho- or para-position based on the alkoxy group) is diazotized by a routine procedure and coupled with a coupling component of formula II (Z is H, a halogen or a 1-4C alkoxy; Aryl is phenyl or 1-naphthyl and contains one, two or three substituent groups selected from a halogen, nitro, a 1-4C alkyl and a 1-4C alkoxy) by a routine procedure on a fiber to form an insoluble azo dye.
