titleOfInvention Novel organic peroxide
abstract NEW MATERIAL:3-Pinanylperoxy-3-phenylphthalide represented by formula I. n USE: A crosslinking agent and curing agent. A very viscose transparent liquid with 108.8°C 10hr-half life temperature (measured in cumene) useful as a crosslinking agent for polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene- propylene-dicyclopentadiene copolymer and other synthetic rubbers, a polymerization initiator for a vinyl monomer such as styrene and methyl methacrylate and a curing agent for an unsaturated polyester. n PREPARATION: 3-Chloro-3-phenylphthalide of formula II is reacted with pinanehydro peroxide of formula III in the presence of an alkali such as NaOH in a solvent such as benzene to prepare a compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
